Stepping into the Green Genesis School, parents and children are often greeted by the sight of Genee, passionately immersed in a book—not just in the classroom or library, but anywhere in the picturesque natural surroundings that seem straight out of a fairy tale. Under the shade of green trees, with the sound of wind chimes and chirping birds, the love for books shines through in the attentive eyes, pure smiles, and eager discussions about a captivating book or an intriguing story. Books act as a “common friend,” bringing Genee closer together through shared stories and a shared passion for exploring new knowledge.
A passion for reading is the essential element in forming and developing a reading culture. For this reason, Genesis School places great emphasis on nurturing Genee’s love for books and building proactive reading habits:
- Implementing the Reading Culture and Creative Writing course (for grades 3 to 7) across all classes.
- Encouraging the use of the English reading app Raz Kids, helping students internalize English as a natural language.
- Designing an “open library” with books available everywhere at Genesis.
- Organizing annual outdoor reading activities to provide Genee with an inspiring reading environment.
- Hosting creative activities such as writing book event reviews, designing book-related publications, and creating or reimagining story endings.
These practical activities aim to develop various skills, especially Genee’s imagination and creativity. To celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), let’s actively share and spread the joy of great books with friends and family!
