25/2 – In Heritage Ambassadors, history is explored through students’ experiences and questions rather than predefined timelines. Standing within the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Genee students observe, investigate, and choose how to tell what they understand in English, gradually forming a natural connection with heritage and a deeper appreciation of the nation’s cultural values.

From gathering information and building a digital museum to trying their hand as junior tour guides, students move from receiving knowledge to actively interpreting history. The Mini Showcase marks a key point in this process, where Genees confidently introduce heritage sites, guide the narrative, and share their understanding with an audience in an international language.

In the next phase, working with Hanoikids and taking part in training sessions and workshops help students broaden their perspectives from Vietnamese heritage to intercultural communication. Notably, three Grade 7 students continue on to guide international visitors alongside Hanoikids, bringing Vietnam’s historical stories directly to friends from around the world.
Heritage Ambassadors concludes as a learning project, but leaves behind a different approach to history, one that is proactive, in-depth, and connected to real life, where love for the homeland, respect for heritage, and the capacity for global engagement are nurtured together.
Thank you to Hanoikids, our teachers, and all Genees for making this project possible.
