– “Teacher! The bacteria look like tiny worms swimming!”
– “Look! There are tiny little dots moving around!”
As part of the Germs topic, our 1IPC students at both campuses had an amazing experience meeting Mr. Eric Bear – a scientist who studies microalgae and runs the Microalgae Museum! Instead of just listening to lessons or looking at pictures, the children saw real bacteria using special microscopes that he brought to Genesis.
The children collected tiny samples: a drop of water, a leaf, even a fingerprint on the table – and suddenly, a hidden world appeared before their eyes! Each new image under the microscope brought excited shouts of “Wow”, “Amazing”, “I can’t believe it” It turns out, there is a whole world that we cannot see with our eyes!
Mr. Eric Bear didn’t just show bacteria; he drew and explained them in a fun and simple way. The children learned that not all bacteria are bad, some are actually very helpful! Learning in such an exciting way made them feel like they were on a magical adventure where science became fun and real.
>> This is exactly what IPC is all about turning learning into exciting experiences, where children don’t just learn from books but also through curiosity, discovery, and joy. And who knows? Maybe today, a future scientist has just begun their journey.
