The sound of excited footsteps echoed on the brick floor, as curious eyes turned towards the shimmering light projections on the walls.
“Teacher! Look! It’s the image of the Trưng Sisters riding elephants!”
“Wow! The light changes depending on the angle we look from!”
The Genesis students embarked on a fascinating journey at Bát Tràng Ceramic Museum, a place preserving over 700 years of ceramic craftsmanship. But what captivated them the most was not just the glossy ceramic vases or intricate patterns—it was a unique encounter with history through the art of Light Sculpture by artisan Bùi Văn Tự!
As they stepped into this extraordinary space, the students were amazed by the light sculptures, where seemingly ordinary wooden blocks transformed into portraits of 14 national heroes when illuminated. From the Trưng Sisters, Lý Thường Kiệt, Trần Hưng Đạo, and Quang Trung to President Hồ Chí Minh, each portrait came to life, vividly narrating the stories of those who shaped the nation’s history.
But the surprises didn’t stop there! In the “Creative Mosaic” workshop, each student had the chance to create their own ceramic artworks by piecing together small ceramic fragments, painting them, and arranging them harmoniously. What were once scattered ceramic pieces became beautiful works of art, each carrying a personal touch—both familiar and imaginative.
The trip ended with messy hands but bright, joyful eyes. Today, it was not just about ceramics, not just about light—but about connecting with history, unleashing boundless creativity, and fostering pride in Vietnamese culture.
And who knows? From this day forward, these little artists might start dreaming even bigger!
