The grand finale of our Book Review competition wrapped up today amid cheers and celebration. This highlight of Genesis’s 2025 Book Week saw our young “reviewers” bring stories to life and share the joy of reading.
From timeless classics like The Cricket’s Adventures and Aladdin and the Magic Lamp to fresh tales of Nibble the super-nerd, Hachiko the loyal dog, and thought-provoking books on the environment and science, each Genee offered a fresh perspective. Through the voices of our “mini critics,” the audience didn’t just hear the plot—they felt the heart of each story and absorbed the deeper messages woven within. Even more touching was the collaborative spirit on display, as friends teamed up to illustrate and support one another’s presentations, true testament to the tight-knit community of Genees.
The day’s most inspiring moment came during an intimate session with poet Lã Thanh Hà, writing under the delightful pen name “Walking Hippo” – author of The Secret Tiny Kingdom. In a colorful, whirlwind encounter, our students uncovered the “secrets of every poet,” inhaled the “scent of joy,” and transformed into fluttering leaves for a spirited game of hide-and-seek. Poet Hà Thanh Hà then took on the role of judge, listening closely and guiding each young presenter with warmth and wisdom.
Congratulations to our shining stars of the finals:
Creativity Award: Bảo Nhi (4A1) & Khánh Nam (1IPC)
Impression Award: Diệp Chi (5A1) & Mộc An (2A1)
Inspiration Award: Hoàng Lâm (3A2), Bảo Anh (3IPC) & Mai Phương (2IPC)
Rising Star Award: Lam Phương (3A1), Hồng Anh (4IPC) & Hà Minh (1A1)
>> Each presentation was a doorway into a new world, where Genees not only learn to read but to feel, analyze, and share. At Genesis, we believe that every great book finds its perfect companion and today, those companions were our extraordinary Genees!
