As the 2024-2025 school year begins, Genesis continues to provide a convenient bus service for students, ensuring a smooth journey to and from school. While safety is a top priority, emergencies can still happen. To prepare students for such situations, a bus evacuation drill was conducted at both campuses to teach essential safety skills from the start.
The drill was divided into two main parts: theory and practice. During the theoretical session, Genees were thoroughly instructed on the steps for safe evacuation and the proper use of emergency tools on the bus.
Following this, the practical session allowed students to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a simulated emergency situation. The key evacuation steps included:
Stay calm—don’t panic, cry, or scream.
Use the horn to signal for help. The horn works even if the bus is off, so students should quickly press it to get attention.
Turn on the hazard lights. The button with a triangle symbol on the dashboard will activate them, increasing visibility.
Use smart devices to contact family or emergency services.
Break the glass with the emergency hammer. The glass is designed to shatter into safe, small pieces.
