Yesterday, Genees from grades 3, 4, and 5 embarked on a meaningful field trip to the Nam Sơn Waste Treatment Complex in Soc Son, Hanoi – the largest waste-to-energy plant in Southeast Asia and the second largest in the world. This advanced facility applies modern technology to convert waste into clean energy, serving the needs of daily life.
During the visit, students were guided through the plant’s main processes, from waste collection to treatment and conversion into electric energy. Step by step, they observed how waste is transformed into electricity and learned about the concepts of responsible consumption and production, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12).
This trip provided Genees with a deeper understanding of their responsibility to protect the environment through waste reduction, recycling, and mindful consumption. It also served as an inspiration for each student to build positive habits and contribute to the sustainable development goals of Vietnam and the world.
