After days of excitedly preparing a corn for their experiential learning trip at Xavia Creative Workshop, the Genees from Rocky S2, grades 1 and 2, officially set off this morning.
Upon arrival, the Genees were captivated by a heartfelt story about the corn husk mother. She endured countless storms and sunshine to protect her tender corn kernels. When separated from the cob, she felt a deep sadness, but thanks to the skillful hands of the workshop staff, the corn husk mother was “revived” into beautiful flowers. This story helped our Genees understand the importance of reuse.
During the hands-on experience of making flowers from corn husks, Genees not only learned crafting skills but also recognized the significance of recycling, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12 – Responsible consumption and production. From materials that seemed destined for the trash, Genees created stunning products. Today’s trip and meaningful story truly became a memorable experience, inspiring the Genees to develop habits of responsible consumption and a consciousness of environmental protection.
