As a cultural highlight of Spring Fair 2026, Genee students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a traditional water puppetry performance presented by artisans from Đào Thục Water Puppetry Village. This folk performing art is recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and reflects the rich identity of Vietnamese culture.
With a stage beautifully recreating the Northern Vietnamese countryside and vivid storytelling, students discovered the origins of water puppetry, learned about how puppets are controlled, and explored folk stories depicting daily life, traditional festivals, and familiar cultural symbols in Vietnam’s traditional heritage. With excitement on their faces and wonder in their eyes, Genees followed every rhythmic movement of the puppets, perfectly synchronized with folk melodies and charming narration.
More than just an artistic performance, water puppetry helps our students understand that this art form is a crystallization of history, culture, and the dedication passed down through generations. It was a multi-sensory experience that broadened students’ artistic appreciation and perspective.
Genesis believes that every cultural experience is a meaningful lesson, igniting a love for national heritage in our Genees and empowering them to confidently preserve and share traditional values as they grow.
