This past Monday, Genesis teachers and students gathered for a flag-raising ceremony rich in historical spirit, themed “Forever Resounding: The Epic of the Vietnam People’s Army.” The solemn notes of the National Anthem echoed as a heartfelt expression of patriotism, awakening pride and a dedication to serve in every heart.
Following the recognition of outstanding individuals and groups for November and the announcement of December’s plans, the hall fell silent with emotion as an impactful documentary was shown. The vivid footage recounted the valiant struggles of the Vietnam People’s Army, transporting the Genees back to a heroic era where indomitable courage and resolve were written in blood and triumph.
The highlight of the program was a special exchange with two historical witnesses. Colonel Đặng Đức Quy, the grandfather of Genee Châu Minh (Grade 7), shared firsthand accounts of his participation in the resistance against American forces and his fierce battles defending Vietnam’s southwestern and northern borders. His vivid stories brought history to life, igniting a flame of patriotism and national pride in each Genee.
The ceremony concluded with the performance “Nơi Đảo Xa” (In Distant Islands), paying homage to the unyielding spirit of Vietnam’s island soldiers, steadfast in their defense of the nation amidst the harshest conditions.
Genesis believes that through meaningful activities like this, every Genee will grow in their love for the homeland, nurture a desire to learn and thrive, and carry forward the mission of protecting and building the nation.
